African gambling regulators agreed to strengthen cooperation on illegal gambling, market data, taxation and responsible gambling during a London session convened by the African iGaming Alliance on the sidelines of iGB L!VE 2026.
The African Regulators Session held in London saw senior representatives from Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Tanzania, and Angola coming together to address key issues in the gambling industry. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to combat illegal gambling activities, sharing market data, implementing effective taxation policies, and promoting responsible gambling practices.
The meeting, which took place on Thursday, July 2, aimed to foster a unified approach among African regulators towards tackling challenges such as player protection, regulatory compliance, and the prevention of illicit betting practices within the region.
