Fable delayed to February 2027. Xbox has postponed the release of Playground Games' Fable to February 2027 to ensure it has a dedicated launch period.
Xbox has decided to delay the release of Playground Games' Fable to February 2027. The company explained that this move was made to allow the game to have the spotlight it deserves during its launch. Xbox's Chief Creative Officer, Matt Booty, mentioned that launching Fable in Autumn would clash with Grand Theft Auto 6, prompting the decision to reschedule.
Booty expressed that Fable is in excellent condition and stressed the importance of providing the game with its own release window. The focus of the upcoming Xbox Showcase on June 7 will be on games rather than hardware or strategy, according to Booty. Playground Games had initially announced Fable's release for Autumn 2026 in January, with the game being described as a reboot of the franchise, not a remake.
