This year's entries include art from the likes of Pragmata, Borderlands 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Monument Valley 3
The Game Maker's Sketchbook has announced the selections for its fifth annual showcase, supported by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), Iam8bit, and Fortyseven Communications. This year's selections highlight concept art, environment art, character designs, and storyboards from games including Pragmata, Borderlands 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Monument Valley 3. The entries were reviewed by a diverse jury panel including game artists, curators, and representatives from within the games industry and related fields, including animation, film, and fine art. The works are available in the Game Maker's Sketchbook online gallery and will be exhibited at Summer Game Fest: Play Days from June 6 to June 8 in Los Angeles, California. Prints can be pre-ordered from the Iam8bit store until June 25. Each purchase supports non-profit initiatives led by Day of the Devs and the AIAS Foundation.
"Game Maker's Sketchbook exists to honor the incredible artists whose work defines how we experience games – the images, worlds, and visual identities that stay with players for a long time," said AIAS president Meggan Scavio. Through these prints, fans are not only celebrating extraordinary works of interactive art but also helping support the next generation of creators who bring these worlds to life.
The full list of entries includes character art, enemy design, environment art, iconography, impact, computational exchange, and storyboards from various games such as Pragmata, Borderlands 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Monument Valley 3.
