Studios and startups can apply for up to €80,000 in non-repayable grants from September 4 to 24, 2026
Gamecity Hamburg has revealed that the second round of funding for prototypes will be open this September, allowing small and medium-sized studios, founders, and start-ups to apply for non-repayable funding of up to €80,000. The total funding available for this round is €180,000, with prototypes showing 'compelling market potential' being eligible. The committee overseeing the selection process for this round includes new members Nora Klutzny and Paul Taaks, along with existing members Dennis Schoubye, Nina Müller, and Valentina Birke.
Gamecity Hamburg's Head, Dennis Schoubye, expressed that this funding round aims to support developers in launching game projects in Hamburg. The addition of Nora Klutzny and Paul Taaks to the committee is expected to enhance the selection process with their market expertise. In the previous round, Gamecity Hamburg awarded grants to five games, including Manor Cartographer, Odem, Welken, Ungradable: Twisted Card Grading, and Wrong Horse.
