Midgar Studio Ordered to Liquidate After Failing to Secure Buyer

Edge of Eternity developer Midgar Studio is closing down.

Confirming the news, Nacon CTO and Midgar founder Jérémy Zeler-Maury revealed that despite efforts to find an acquirer, the court has mandated the liquidation of the studio. Zeler-Maury expressed gratitude to the team and partners, emphasizing the impact of Midgar's work over the years. The closure will affect between 11 and 50 employees, as indicated on the studio's LinkedIn page.

Midgar's closure follows Nacon subsidiaries Spiders, Kylotonn, Cyanide, and Nacon Tech filing for insolvency earlier this year. Notably, Greedfall developer Spiders also ceased operations due to the inability to secure a buyer. Meanwhile, Slitherine Software has acquired the Warhammer Blood Bowl franchise from Nacon, with plans to publish the upcoming title.
