A group of Ohio lawmakers has introduced a bill that would ban online sports betting and impose sweeping restrictions on legal wagering in the state.
House Bill 971, presented by Republican Representatives Johnathan Newman and Beth Lear, aims to restrict sports betting to retail sportsbooks exclusively. If approved, the legislation would prohibit online betting, a sector currently prevalent in Ohio's sports betting market.
