Xbox confirms console exclusivity will be decided on "case by case basis". Xbox announced that Gears of War: E-day and Clockwork Revolution will be exclusive to Xbox and PC, while new titles like State of Decay and Hellblade will come to PS5.

Xbox kicked off its summer showcase by announcing that Gears of War: E-day and Clockwork Revolution will be exclusive to Xbox and PC. Meanwhile, new titles like State of Decay and Hellblade will be coming to PS5. The company clarified that these titles will be exclusive to the Xbox platform without any timed exclusivity. CCO Matt Booty stated that decisions on exclusivity for future titles will be made on a "case by case basis".

During the showcase, Xbox revealed that the upcoming Hellblade title Senua and State of Decay 3 will also be available on PS5 upon their release in 2027. Additionally, the delayed game Fable is set to launch on PS5 on February 27. Booty mentioned in an interview that live service games will remain fully multiplatform, and previously announced ports such as the remake of Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released as planned.

Regarding future releases, Booty emphasized the importance of announcing platforms along with dates. Xbox exclusivity will be determined on a case-by-case basis to provide players with compelling reasons to engage with the Xbox ecosystem. CEO Asha Sharma highlighted the necessity for the Xbox platform to offer exclusive content and services for its success, as reported by Bloomberg.
