Majority of those affected have been transferred internally to other games in development
The developer 11 Bit Studios, known for the game Alters, has revealed that it is laying off 20 employees. The Warsaw-based studio stated that the layoffs were necessary to align team structures with current project phases and to maintain financial stability. Despite the layoffs, the majority of affected employees have been offered internal transfers to other projects within the company to support their careers.
According to the studio, the decision to downsize was crucial to adapt new project teams to current requirements, manage expenses efficiently, and uphold cost discipline. While most employees were successfully transferred to new projects, approximately 20 roles could not be accommodated in early-stage projects, leading to their departure from the company.
Earlier in 2024, 11 Bit Studios downsized its workforce following the cancellation of Project 8, an ongoing project. Over half of the affected team members were provided with alternative positions within the studio.
