Bethesda is moving to a 'franchise-centric' planning strategy to better focus resources on long-term growth and stability.
Company CEO Jill Braff stated that the change aims to ensure sustainable growth amidst a broader restructuring at Xbox, which will see 3,200 job cuts, equating to 20% of the workforce. The new planning model will prioritize the strongest franchises and align resources to deliver on these priorities. Braff emphasized the importance of collaboration across the organization to maximize the potential of their franchises and intellectual property.
Alongside this strategic shift, operational cuts are being implemented, with ZeniMax Online Studios facing significant downsizing and reports suggesting up to 50% of its employees may be impacted. Arkane Lyon, Bethesda Softworks, and Id Software are also undergoing restructuring with job losses reported.
