An Indonesian court issued a caning order for a convicted gambler, who received five lashes of the cane for placing bets online.
The gambler, known as RM, was subjected to the punishment at the Pidie Jaya District Attorney’s Office courtyard in Aceh Province, as reported by Indonesian media outlet Aceh Online. The caning was carried out as a form of punishment for engaging in online gambling activities. Aceh is known for its strict adherence to Islamic law, which prohibits gambling.
