Mobile developer is offering up to $200,000 per studio to support creative talent across the continent
Supercell has introduced a program that provides equity-free grants ranging from $20,000 to $200,000 to studios in Africa. The Supercell Developer Grants initiative is accessible to studios operating on all platforms, genres, and business models. Notably, Supercell will not acquire any ownership of the studios or games as part of the grant agreement, ensuring that the studios maintain complete ownership of their intellectual property.
Individual developers are not eligible for this program. Studios applying for the grants must be officially registered, with their main operations and a majority of their team situated in Africa. The eligibility of studios will not be impacted by previous funding from investors, publishers, grants, or accelerator programs.
The selection process will focus on the capabilities of the core team, the artistic direction and creative vision of the project, and indications of community involvement. Moreover, Supercell will give preference to studios that have the potential to enrich the broader games ecosystem and possess a strategic plan for utilizing the grant funds to expedite growth.
Applications for the initial cohort are currently being accepted and will conclude on August 9, 2026. The assessment period is scheduled from August to October 2026, with successful candidates being informed at the end. The distribution of grant funds is set to commence in December.
