Unity AI Beta features a smart helper to support devs and use the platform's tools more effectively

Unity has introduced a suite of AI tools in open beta for developers using Unity 6 or higher. The toolset aims to expedite game development and assist creators in crafting superior games at a faster pace. The Agentic Assistant, the central feature, aids developers within game projects by enhancing their comprehension of their work and optimizing the use of Unity's tools.

Other functionalities include 'Plan' mode for planning implementation steps and 'Skills' for expert advice on tasks like UI creation and scene setup. The suite also offers immediate rollback of modifications and tools for generating placeholder assets such as materials, sounds, cubemaps, and 2D or 3D assets. Developers can securely link to and utilize preferred AI tools in the Unity editor through the AI gateway or external coding tools and large language models using Unity's Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.

Unity Pro, Enterprise, and Industry subscribers will automatically gain access to these features and credits upon installing the Assistant package. Unity Personal Edition users can enjoy these features by initiating a free Unity AI trial, which includes 1,000 credits for 14 days. Following the trial period, users have the option to subscribe for $10 monthly to receive 1,000 AI credits. Additional bundles or credits can be purchased if required.
